在表示英语句型或搭配时，通常是用 sb 和 sb’s，至于 one 和 one’s 则主要用于其前有对应的人称时的情况，比如我们总是说 on one’s own，而不说 on sb’s own，因为我们使用 on one’s own 时，它的前面原则上应该有一个名词或代词是与 one’s 同人称的。比如：

Your grandfather did it all on his own. 你祖父自己一个人做的。

He's still too weak to stand on his own. 他还很虚弱，自己站不起来。

They can't survive on their own in the wilderness. 他们没法独立在野外生存。

You shouldn’ t be out on your own at this time of night. 你不该独自一人晚上这个时候出去。

He walked off and left us on our own. 他拂袖而去，丢下我们不管。
