1）单纯地得到一个答案，助益并不大。网友提问，应该注明出处，说明理由。比如说网友的这句话，是谁（授课老师、语法教材、视频教学等等）认为错了？TA们认为错了的理由是什么？这样大家才能有的放矢地进行讨论。

2）个人看法：如果是你的老师或者某本语法书上说这个句子错了，TA们应该不是说这个句子被动、主动或者it用错等问题，而是TA们认为传统上，英语中没有“It proved that the rumor was true”这种用法，可以说 The rumor proved to be true，但不宜使用 It proved that the rumor was true。当时应该是把prove和它的同义词turn out放一起讨论的吧？因为turn out 完全可以这么用：It turned out that the rumor was true.

谢孟媛的说法是没有依据的，是想当然的观点。

1. 复旦大学出版社出版的《现代英语惯用法词典》在prove词条有如下说明：

下面几种说法都可以：

It proved him guilty.

It proved his guilt.

He was proved guilty.

It proved that he was guilty.

2. 如果你认为国内出版的词典不够权威，那就来一个原版词典的例句：

——网友的这种说法依据是什么？网友的意思是必须使用被动语态吗？其实，主动、被动都正确：

It proved that the rumor was true. （正）

It was proved that the rumor was true.（正）

我们对这两句的结构作一区别：

前者，it 是人称代词，可以指代 the fact; the evidence 等名词，proved 接宾语从句。

后者，it 是形式主语，that 从句为真正主语外置，was proved 是被动语态。it was proved that 跟 it was said that 是完全相同的结构。

第一句的含义是：有事实或证据证明这个传言是真的。第二句的含义是：这个传言是真的已被证实（至于怎么被证实不得而知）。
