3 -ing形容词disapproving可以用于人吗（2020北京卷商榷）

这是2020高考北京卷阅读理解D中的一道题。我的问题不在试题，而是感觉这里的disapproving 在语法上不对。因为它的主语是 the author，指人啊！

这道高考没有问题，不要以为-ing形容词就一定不会表示人的感觉。对于disapproving的用法，你查一下词典就知道了。
disapproving=showing that you do not approve of sb / sth 不赞成的；表示反对的；不以为然的
Her father looked disapproving for a moment. 有一阵儿她父亲显出不赞成的样子。
She sounded disapproving as we discussed my plans. 我们讨论我的计划时，她听起来好像不以为然。
其派生副词也有类似用法：
He looked disapprovingly at the row of empty wine bottles. 他不以为然地看了看那排空酒瓶。
David frowned disapprovingly when I lit a cigarette. 我点燃香烟的时候戴维皱了皱眉头表示讨厌。

如提问人所说，B项的确使用不佳。有两点：
1. ACD三项都是形容词，那么B项对应的我们也认为是形容词，但是disapproving的使用让人无法分辨是动词还是形容词。如果是动词，则表示“当时是反对的”，隐藏的可能是：后来改变态度了。
2. 即使作为形容词使用，disapproving是修饰事物的，如果作人称主语的表语，也不直接用be，而改用look, seem, sound，如字典中的She sounded disapproving。这样有两个好处，1.不会让人误以为是动词；2. 内在含义并非直接对“主语人”进行表述，而是表达“主语”的言行表情是disapproving的。
这个词从形成来看，本来就是形容人的。
