这个句子中，as为方式状语，作为……；Dickens'后面应该跟一个名词性部分，但句子中没有，是不是省略了与方式状语中相同的部分(重复部分celebrated man of letters)

请教曹老师，这个too…to结构，第二个to为结果状语; 但为什么翻译出来的是“太过于保守以至于未能实施”，译过来不应该是“过于保守以至于实施”吗？

3. His concern is mainly with the humanities: literature, languages, philosophy and so on

and后是省略了有关成分只剩下了so on吗？

1 Dickens' 为印刷错误，删去撇号，即这里应该用名词通格，而不是属格。

2 too...to do sth. 意为太...以致于不能做某事。你对这个结构的理解有误。

3 and so on 为习语，意为“等等”，不要再做分析。
