我认为这里有排版错误，these students’ audiences who... 应为 these students，audiences who... 。排版时误将逗号排成了撇号。这里不需要属格形式，逗号后的名词短语为students的非限制性同位语。整个句子的意思是：然而，在回答“学了多少？”这个问题时，我们必须承认，对于这些学习英语多年的学生群体的学习成果，我们知之甚少。

我觉得从表达上看应该没有问题吧，就是名词修饰名词而已。student audiences 和 students' audiences 以及 audiences of students 现在应该都属于正确的表达：
