3 关于定语从句的问题

We moved to the country so that the children would have a garden in which they could play in. 我想问的是为什么 in which they could play in 这个定语从句中 play 后面还存在一个介词 in , 这个定语从句不应该是 in which they could play 吗？请问这是句子有问题还是我的理解有问题。

你的理解应该是对的，是句子有问题, 最后的in应该去掉。

We【主语】// moved【谓语动词】// to the country【地点状语】// so that the children would have a garden in which they could play 【目的状语】

备注(1)：in which they could play为定语从句修饰前面的名词“ garden”。in which为定语从句地点状语。关系代词which指代garden。

备注(2): 最后一个介词“in”为多余的，应该去掉。

备注(3):so that....引导目的状语从句。
