many words and word elements of the technical vocabulary have become sufficiently a part of the general vocabulary of English as to require entry in an abridged dictionary

as to后接名词代词或从句，为什么这里接了require？还是说是as的单独用法？

赞同曹老师说的不定式为结果状语，但我理解so 是故意省略了，因为sufficiently 的意思和so much有时接近，所以人们常省略后面的so, 当然有时也可以不省略。请看外刊例句：

1.Its nature is sufficiently vague as to serve whatever political rhetoric is projected on to it.

2. Other minerals of gold are sufficiently rare as to have little economic significance.

3. The indicators established throughout this study are sufficiently precise as to be used for further research.

4. As such, any test must be sufficiently reproducible so as to provide confidence in the results.

5. A final report should be sufficiently descriptive so as to allow a reviewer to understand how the conclusions were reached.

我认为这里漏掉了so，应该是so as to require不定式短语作结果状语。Many words and word elements of the technical vocabulary have become sufficiently a part of the general vocabulary of English so as to require entry in an abridged dictionary.

期待其他老师给出更为合理的解释。
