如何理解比较分句中it指代前后主语？
The soil is more fertile in many parts of US than it is in the desert of the United Arab Emirates.
请教老师：than后比较分句的主语it指的是前面的The soil吧？ 可是我想不通的是：
it是指代，指代的是同一个东西，前面用The soil指的是US的泥土，可是为什么后面却可以用it=The Soild(显然是US的泥土) ？
即than it is in the desert of the United Arab Emirates. 这里又把it放到了阿联酋的泥土？ 这个怎么理解呢？
主要是it既然指代了US, 那么为什么阿联酋还可以用US的it？

这样理解：
The soil of different places has different fertility. 你应该能接受这个句子吧。
It is more fertile in US than it is in UAE. 二个主语都是it.
