一、我认为将 spend 后面的现在分词分析为宾语不合适

薄冰教授认为 spend...doing中的doing在传统语法中分析为宾语，因为其前省略了介词 in。但我有不同看法：既然省略了介词 in，还把 doing 分析为宾语，我觉得这不合适。介词都省略了，它作谁的宾语？比如下面的句子，均摘自辞书，doing 前面的介词都放在括号内，说明可以省略，难道这些省略介词后，剩下的 doing 还是宾语吗？

She was quick (at) solving the problem.

He was slow (at) asking for a rise.

He was happy (at) working on the problem.

They worked all day (at) cleaning the house.

They take turns (at) looking after their baby.

She ended up (by) dancing on the table.

Just what do you mean (by) coming into my room without knocking?

She was generous (in) giving us her old car.

She was lucky (in) winning the money.

There’s no use (in) worrying about the past.

There’s no point (in) complaining about the service.

He hurt his leg (in) playing football.

She beat him (in) running to the end of the road.

I had no difficulty (in) making myself understood.

I came very near (to) hitting him.

I’m fed up (with) waiting for him.

He busied himself (with) eating his salad.

I’m busy (with) getting the house redecorated.
