问题1：请教曹老师！为啥是more加形容词加 a thing？我感觉more是副词，应该为that is a more complicated thing than I can tell; 既；结构应该为a + more + adj + thing.

1 因为more要在主句中作表语，为比较项，其对应项还要在比较分句中作宾语，所以more必须是代词，不可能是副词。more加形容词加 a thing 是作者用来解释more的，它是一个名词词组，中心词是a thing. 所以more代替了一个名词词组，为代词。当你表达成more加形容词加 a thing的时候，形容词比较级中的more当然是副词了。但原句中作表语的more却不是副词，而是代词。当一个单数名词被more+形容词这种比较级形式修饰时，不定冠词a可以在比较级前，也可以在比较级之后。前者是普通用法，后者为强调比较级的特殊用法。例如语料库下面的二个例句：

Kemp later turned out to be far more complicated a partner than Dole or Reed had imagined.

I think it's going to be a more complicated parliament than before.

2 subject to something是形容词短语，作非限制性定语。其他理解正确。
