我看到一个句子：

Here in Juno, a boat on Auke bay is the place to be to spot whales.

对这句话后半部分a boat…的表达方式以前没有见过，请帮助解释一下句子意义和分析语法结构。

句子主干为：a boat is the place to be

不定式to be短语为后置定语，be此时含义为 to be in a place。to spot whales则是to be的目的状语。

难点可能是为什么be后面没有诸如in之类的介词。因为place这个词有点特殊，place to do something里的动词可以是不及物的：
