请问这道题为什么选A？

B是因为being late和deprive him主宾倒置才不选的吗？

如果把 Being a few minutes late 改为 His being a few minutes late, 则在意义上与A就完全对等了。但即使没有逻辑主语his，我认为读者或听话人也可以从句子的内容得出being的逻辑主语就是him。所以B选项应该也是正确的。
