关于the more ……，the more ……的疑问

the more A，the more B结构，意思是A越如何，B越如何。A是B的原因，前面内容是后面内容的原因。比如，The more he drank, the more violent he became.他喝得越多，就变得越狂暴。但是下面的例子，

问题1：最后一句意思应该是the longer they extend, the more they will reshape it，也就是说最后一句是the longer they extend, all the more so.

为什么原文把all the more so放在前面呢？这样不怕搞错谁是原因谁是结果吗？

问题2：the more ……the more……结构，前后时态应该一致吧，为什么原文不说 will extend？

1. all the more so 是英语习语，和the more 结构不是一回事。所以懂英语的读者不会误解，当然初学英语的人就不一定了。主句分句的顺序是可以变换的。

2. 时态不一定必须一致，因为表示条件的the more 用现在时，主句可以用将来时。如：The harder you work, the better you (will) learn. 原文的the longer they extend是条件句，不是主句。
