MA：Do you think that er. . . education is just something that takes place inside a school building, or is it a. . . an activity which takes place not only outside but right the way through your life?

JAN：I think it starts the moment you're born, and . . . er... that it's going on all around you. It's not just taking place in a school building. . . um it should be. . . part of your whole life.

but right the way through your life?如果省略的主谓语是it is，那么这里究竟是the right way，还是right the way

all around you. 这里的all是限定词，还是看做副词？

MA：Er. . . do you have any specific ways in which you think. . . time at school could be improved?

JAN：Yes, I think there could be a. . . a lot more encouragement in doing things for their own sake, for getting the satisfaction out of them... um, rather than this “rat race” that everybody's forced into. . . um... for what is achieved at the end. I think . . . a lot more should be done to encourage people to get the value out of it themselves.

1 not only outside but （also) right the way through your life 这是关联并列连词not only...but (also) ... 并列二个状语，right为副词，right the way= all the way. 教育不但发生在学校以外，而且贯穿你的一生。

2 around you 为介词短语，限定词只能用于名词前，怎么能用在介词之前呢？all在此为副词，意为completely，完全、整个。

3 in which you think time at school could be improved 为嵌入式定语从句修饰名词way，time at school could be improved为think的宾语从句，in which是宾语从句中的方式状语。
