the more...the more...句式的还原

The more clear the goal is, the easier it is to focus on it and to track a path towards it.

请问这句话是不是可以还原成 it is easier to focus on... 即 it is easier to focus on it 中的第一个 it 是做形式主语，而第二个 it 指代 goal。不知道 the more...the more...这种句式能不能这样还原？

赞同米老师的解答。这种句式会用既可，如果一定要分析的话，前面是具有条件意义的程度状语从句，后面是主句。前面的the就是连词，意为“如果到达某个程度”；后面的the是程度副词“达到这个程度”。张道真《英语语法大全》就专门谈到这个问题，书中将这种状语从句归于“依据状语从句”的另一特殊类。摘录如下：

The (= if to a certain degree) (用作连词) poorer he becomes, the (= to that degree) (用作副词) less friends he has.

The more he studied music, the less he could (or could he) understand it.

可以这样理解，但使用时不能这样还原。

（事实上这类句式已成为固定格式，从来都不会还原使用的）
