not only...but he's/he also的问题

请问老师：

He’s not only very fast, but he’s also got marvellous technique.

He not only did the shopping but he also cook the meal.

1.这两个not only...but also并列了什么？

2.第一句中第二个he’s也是he is的缩写吗？为嘛he’s和he插在but also中间？

not only...but also...中，真正的并列连词是but. 当二个句子并列时，but必须在第二分句之首。而also是个副词，通常为中位状语，即位于主语之后，操作词之后，实意动词之前。所以，并不是 he 或 he's 插在了but also之间，而是but作为连词连接并列分句，also位于它应该在的中位状语位置。but also并非像你理解的那样为铁板一块不可分开。
