1 though在此为连词副词（conjunct adverb), 作连接性状语，表示本句和前一句话在逻辑上是转折关系。其作用类似于however。你可以按照however去理解即可。

2 may do A and do B. affect在此为情态动词后的不带to的不定式（有人称其为动词原型），承前省略了may.
