of和for用法辨析？

通常，都是the V-ing of ....这样一种结构。即上句应该是the mining of personal information...?

为什么用for呢？

因为这里是动状关系，而不是动宾关系，所以不用of 表示动宾关系，而是用for表示动状关系。mine the computer for information. —— the mining (of the computer) for information.
