用作形容词的learned可用作表语吗

老师说，用作形容词的learned习惯上只用作定语，不用作表语，是这样吗？learned主要有哪些用法？谢谢老师！

用作形容词的learned可用作定语或者表语。例如：Dr. Chasuble is a most learned man . / The more learned a man is , the more modest he usually is . / He was learned in the ways of the world . （张道真主编《现代英语用法词典》修订版 learned 词条）learned 在前一个句子中作定语，在后两个句子中作表语。
