The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. 心有余而力不足。

(2) the fighting spirit 斗志 / act with spirit 怀着勇气行动 / Put a little more spirit into your research. 对你的研究再多加一把劲吧。/ a man of spirit 有志气的人

【用spirits】

(1) 表示“情绪，心情；精神”，例如：

be in good [high] spirits 精神高昂

be in bad [low] spirits 垂头丧气

Your friendly letter raised my spirits. 你亲切的来信使我精神为之一振。
