是的，择比结构 more of...than...通常只用于连接单数可数名词，而且即使是连接单数可数名词，其中的不定冠词有时也可以省略，同时 of 也可以省略。如：

He is more a poet than a novelist. 与其说他是位小说家，不如说是位诗人。
如果是连接复数名词或不可数名词，则不用介词 of。如：
