另外，原文在讨论地球的形状和组成，为什么这里的Earth可以不加the？

1 你可以说Earth was a cylinder. 但如果你用shape作主语，则表语应该用形容词：The shape of Earth was cylindrical. 2 当 earth大写时为专有名词，the用不用都可以，不用the更常见。
