【一】take a holiday 表示“休假，度假”
The doctor strongly recommended that he(should省略) take a holiday. 医生竭力劝他去休假.
They agreed to take a holiday for once in a way. 他们同意破例度一次假.
【二】spend +时间短语 表示“度过/花费一些时间”
We spent the weekend in Paris.我们在巴黎度过了周末。
How long did you spend on your homework?你做家庭作业用了多长时间？
How do you spend your spare time?你在业余时间干什么？
Most of her life was spent in caring for others.她大半辈子的时间都用来照顾别人了。
