向尊敬的曹老师请教！rather than可以用作准并列连词和复合介词，那么该如何正确使用rather than的词性呢？

（1）He stayed at home rather than go out

（2）Many are deprived of their liberty , rather than met with empathy

（3）She walks rather than runs

（4）I reasoned rather than quarreled with him.

1句中的rather than为复合介词，后面跟了省略to的不定式作宾语；2、3、4句中的rather than为准并列连词，与谓语动词并列。

问题1：可以把1句中的rather than看成准并列连词,然后改写成he stayed at home rather than went out 嘛？如果不能，恳请曹老师指出原因。

（5）I should thank you rather than you thank me.

问题2：5句为准并列连词，并列两个句子；是不是rather than后接完整的比较分句，主句中的比较项为比较副词rather ；比较对应项在比较分句中作状语，省略了。
