请问这里为什么用 spotted，而不用 saw, find？

原因很简单，用 spot 比用 see, find 更“高级”，你在写作中也可以尝试着用用（大家不是都喜欢通过写“高级”句来得“高分”吗？）。

顺便说一句，spot 的这个用法在高考中很常见的噢。比如：

(1) Jim Grant spotted black smoke coming out of a building on his way to work. 吉姆·格兰特在上班的路上发现一座大楼里冒出黑烟。(2020新全国卷Ⅱ完形填空)

(2) I saw bird watchers who spotted a bird, immediately looked it up in field guides. 我曾看到一个鸟类观察者在发现一只鸟后，立即在野外指南上查阅。(2018天津卷阅读理解D)
