spend time/one's life doing something 这个结构中，doing为现在分词短语作方式或伴随状语。由于现在分词作状语，与谓语动词spent始终具有同时性，即分词的动作不可能早于或晚于谓语动作时间，所以，当现在分词为被动语态时，being有时就被省略了。此时过去分词仅表示被动意义，而没有完成意义，在理解上和being done的意义是相同的。语料库中就有spend one's life +过去分词作状语的例句的。
