Railway is to a country what blood vessel is to a man's body.

Environment is to us what water is to fish.

老师，请问这个A is to B what C is to D，它的结构是不是is前面的那个单词都是零冠词，因为railway，blood vessel，environment（要表示生态环境或者自然环境的话，词典例句都是加冠词的）都是零冠词，是由句型的is决定零冠词的吗？

我觉得不能这么说，只能说你看到的那种形式更多见而已。而且，现代英语中，这种句式本身就少见了，这里用what更少，as要多些。这两个例句可以推翻你的零冠词推论：

1. Insurance companies are to health care as a fox is to guarding hens.

2. The man who cannot be trusted is to society what a bit of rotten timber is to a house.
