句子时态问题

Those were the last words he ever spoke to us.

It'll just be the last thing we ever do.

第一个句子的定语从句可不可以改为现在完成时,此时是不是表达到现在为止对我们说的最后一句话?如果用过去完成时,是不是表达到谓语were的时间为止对我们说的最后一句话?老师能顺带讲一下这两个句子的ever是啥意思吗?谢谢老师们!

last words 或final words 在英语里经常指临终前的话,这里用过去是或过去完成没有太大区别,均可。你的第二句the last thing we ever do. 指的是我们最不想做的事,last 有否定的意思。如:He is the last person I ever want to see. ever的出现和last有关,这里有at any time的意思。
