She saw a large cat only 5 yards away from her.
away 是“方位副词”表距离，意为“离...有多远”，前面通常加具体的数字距离，例如，句1是 twenty miles，句2是only 5 yards。后面通常加介词短语from...表示“相距于...”，还可以省略。通过语境可以判断出，句1在away 之后省略了from the one place.
