5 for example可否连接两个句子(就像连词一样)
比如：There are several different ways to bind a book, for example you can stitch or stick the pages together. 正确吗？
我知道for example前面是句号的时候可以这么用，如果是逗号（如例句）或者分号呢？是否也是正确的？

如果for example前为句号如下：
There are several different ways to bind a book. For example, you can stitch or stick the pages together.
则for example为连接性状语 (conjunct)，起句间连接作用，表示本句为前一句的举例。连接性状语与句子之间要用逗号！
如果for example前后都是逗号（你在后面没有用逗号为错误）如下：
There are several different ways to bind a book, for example, you can stitch or stick the pages together.
则黑体部分为补充语分句，对前面的名词词组several different ways to bind a book 做补充说明，for example 为补充语（supplement）的标记词（marker）。
for example 不是从属连词，不可引导从句。它可以作一个句子的连接性状语，也可以作补充语的标记词。
