1. 由 can, could 构成的被动结构

He couldn’t be bought. 收买不了他。

Eleven can’t be divided by two exactly. 11不能被2整除。

2. 由 may, might 构成的被动结构

Tickets may be bought onapplication to the theatre. 可向剧场购买戏票。

In those days, a man might be hanged for stealing a sheep. 那个年代，偷一只羊就可能被绞死。

3. 由 must, mustn’t 构成的被动结构

This plan must be realized by all means. 这个计划必须千方百计予以实现。

The book must be finished by the end of the month. 这本书必须月底完成。

4. 由 should 构成的被动结构

Woollens should be washed by hand. 毛料衣服要用手洗。

Cigarette advertising should be banned. 应该禁止香烟的广告业务。

5. 由 need 构成的被动结构

He needn’t be told. 没有必要告诉他。

The second point needn’t be discussed today. 第二点今天不必讨论。
