▲表示“比……增加多少”，通常用 increase over，不用 increase than。又如：

The March figure for output value registered a 37 per cent increase over February. 三月份产值比二月份增长百分之三十七。

Many companies are expecting flat sales or at most a 1 to 2 percent increase over last year. 许多公司预计销售平平，或至少比去年增加1%至2%。

▲但有时可用 increase on。如：

The figures show a sharp increase on last year’s turnover.数据显示营业额与去年相比有大幅增长。

This marked a 7% increase on the previous year and the reversal of asteady five-year downward trend. 这标志着在前一年基础上有了7％的增长，扭转了5年来持续下降的趋势。
