compared with last year的比较对象问题

下面这个句子有问题吗？
The company hasn’t much to crow about, with sales down compared with last year. 公司的销售额比去年下降了，没有什么可夸耀的。
我觉得句子中的 last year 应该用所有格 last year’s，因为是指 last year’s sales（可以看作是它的省略形式）。是这样吗？谢谢老师！

原句应该可以的。如《麦克米兰英语词典》当中的例句：
Profits were good compared with last year.
另外，以下句子也属类似情况：
It’s hurting worse than before. 疼得比过去更厉害了。
The weather is better today than yesterday. 今天天气比昨天好。
Is the team any different from last year? 这个队与去年相比有什么不同吗？
