问题 convenient to do sth不可以用人作主语吗

在多个地方见到过，convenient 后接不定式 to do sth 时，它的主语不可以是人或物，而只能是形式主语 it。但看到这样一个句子：It is simple and convenient to use. 它很简单，用起来很方便。但从翻译来看，这个 it 好像不是形式主语啊！
