为什么章振邦教授在《新编英语语法教程》中把状语作为分句成分？

Ten years ago, he began to live in Dalian.in Dalian 是状语，可以理解成宾语么？我总觉得 live 是不及物动词，in 做介词，后面接Dalian 做介词宾语，我这样理解错在哪儿呢？
