请问曹荣禄老师：

The deal just isn't working out the way we were promised.

1. just在该句中是什么意思，做的是什么成分，作用对象是谁？

2. 句中的work out是什么意思？

3. 主句中的进行态是进行态的一般用法，还是进行态的某种特殊用法？这种用法表示什么意思？

那句中的is working out表示的是什么意思？

4. 关于(the way we were promised)这部分的问题：

（1）其中的way是什么意思？

（2）(the way we were promised)这部分它在句中做的是什么成分？是方式状语吗？

若是方式状语，为什么在此处不是副词性的介短in the way做方式状语，而是the way这么个名词性的名词短语做方式状语？这是某种语法规则吗？具体是种什么规则？

还有，如，Things don't always work out that way.这句，为什么用的是that way而不是in that way？

（3）这个the way在后面的定语从句中到底做的是什么成分？

定语从句中的promise这个动词到底是哪种动词，后面需要接什么成分？we were promised这个定语从句到底是哪种句子结构？

备注:we were promised为定语从句修饰前面名词the way

【1】“just”为副词意思“只是”放在否定词isn’t表示“根本没有”

【2】work out 意思“ 如期发生/进展顺利”

【3】the way we were promised为方式状语修饰前面谓语动词isn’t working out.

【4】we were promised 为定语从句修饰前面名词the way

【A】the way we were promised.别人对我们承若/许诺/保证的方式

【B】the way that we were promised.别人对我们承若/许诺/保证的方式

【C】the way in which were promised.别人对我们承若/许诺/保证的方式

以上三种都是正确的

【1】 the way we were promised by others【被动】我们被承若/保证的方式

【2】 the way others promised us 【主动】别人向我们承诺/保证的方式。
