句子1：Li Lei is taller than any other student in his class.

句子2：Li Lei is taller than any of the other students in his class.

句子2比句子1多了“of the”，students就用复数。是不是把“其他学生”作为一个整体，句子1里“其他学生”是个体？该如何理解和运用呢？

句子1中的any是形容词或限定词，和other一起修饰student，any强调任何一个个体，other表示范围，排除他自己，any other student的核心词是any，对应翻译是“其他任何一个学生”，所以student用单数，any other少数情况下也可以用复数。

句子2中的any是代词，等于any student，对应翻译是“其他学生中的任何一个学生”。所以意译成中文意思是一样的，只是英文的两种表达方式不一样而已，主要是词性的原因。

在口语中，第1句的any other 后面也可以接复数名词：Li Lei is taller than any other students in his class.

any of 后面的可数名词必须用复数。
