To some people, poetry is like abstract art. Some people feel that poetry is too subjective to the artist for the reader to be able to fully understand it.

请问老师to the artist应该怎么理解？诗歌不应该是对读者更主观吗？为什么这里还要加to the artist?

to the artist 是形容词subjective的补足语，表示这种主观的看法是谁的主观看法，与前一句的to some people没有关系。
