强调句中强调人时可以用 that 吗

It was John that wore his best suit last night.

这是专四题目中的一个句子，按说强调句中人后面不应该用who么，怎么用的that 呀？

在 it is / was ... that ... 这种强调结构（又叫做分裂句）中，如果强调的是人，也可以（但不是必须）把 that 改为 who。例如：

It was my secretary that sent the bill to Mr Harding yesterday. 是我的秘书昨天把账单寄给哈丁先生的。（《牛津英语用法指南》第四版273节）

It was my secretary who sent ...（同上）

It was John that wore his best suit last night.

强调句，在结构上叫分裂句，无论强调什么成分，都要用 that 引出句子的其余部分。强调 “人” 时，当然也用 that，用 who 只是一种选择。
