He had his sonclean the car. 他叫他的儿子擦车。

He made merepeat the story. 他要我把那事重讲一遍。

Rain makesplants grow. 雨水使植物生长。

▲以下各句式也含有“使某人做某事”的意味，但其后的不定式必须带 to：

1. cause sb (sth) to do sth 使某人(某事物)做某事。如：

The coldweather caused the plants to die. 天气寒冷冻死了植物。

What causedyour wife to change her mind? 是什么使你的妻子改变了主意？

2. determine sb to do sth 使某人决定做某事。如：

What determinedyou to accept the offer? 是什么使你接受此项提议？

Hisencouragement determined me to carry on with the work. 他的鼓励使我下定决心要把工作继续干下去。

3. equip sb to do sth 使某人准备好做某事。如：

Your educationwill equip you to earn a good living. 你受的良好教育将使你能谋得好生计。

4. force sb to do sth 迫使某人做某事。如：

They forced herto sign the paper. 他们强迫她在文件上签字。

He was forcedto leave the country. 他被迫离开这个国家。

5. get sb (sth) to do sth 做某人(某事物)做某事。如：

You must getthem to come over here. 你必须想法让他们到这儿来。

He couldn’t getthe car to start and went by bus. 他因无法发动车子，所以就乘公共汽车去。

6. set sb to do sth 使某人做某事。如：

We set thechildren to clean the windows. 我们叫孩子们擦窗子。

I’ve set myselfto finish the work by Friday. 我决心要在星期五以前完成这工作。
